News and Events

The ORCOL Symposium was held on April 30th and May 1st, 2009, and hosted by the School of Human Kinetics at the Unversity of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. The theme of the Symposium was "Leisure, Space, and Change", and examined the relationship of leisure to transformation across a variety of spaces where leisure occurs. Dr. Tim Cresswell of the University of London (U.K.) kicked off the Symposium with his keynote presentation, entitled "

Now Available

 

A Special Issue of Leisure/Loisir, the journal of the Canadian Association for Leisure Studies, focusing on "Leisure, Space, and Social Change", is now available (Vol. 35, No. 1 and 2, 2011). Building on the enthusiasm coming out of the 2009 ORCOL Symposium, the Co-Editors -- Drs. Dawn Trussell, Heather Mair, and Erin Sharpe -- served as Guest Editors of papers submitted for this special issue. Visit the Leisure/Loisir website to see the contents.
